Finding the perfect costumes was a bit of a challenge, but after some research and trial and error, we were able to put together the perfect ‘Back To The Future’ couple costume. Here is my comprehensive buying guide for anyone looking to recreate this classic duo for their next costume event.
Research and Inspiration
Before making any purchases, it’s important to do some research and gather inspiration. Watch clips from the movie, look at images of the characters, and make a list of key elements that you want to incorporate into your costumes. This will help narrow down your search and give you a clear idea of what you’re looking for.
Marty McFly Costume
The key elements of Marty’s outfit include a red puffer vest, denim jacket, white t-shirt, blue jeans, red sneakers, and a red trucker hat with “life preserver” written on it. After searching through thrift stores and online retailers, I was able to find all these items at affordable prices. I recommend checking out thrift stores first as they often have unique pieces that can be easily altered or used as is.
For the puffer vest and denim jacket, make sure to get ones with similar colors and styles to those worn by Marty in the movie. The white t-shirt should be plain with no graphics or logos.
